Meet Dana
Author & Keynote Speaker
Dana Neiger is a first-time author and an experienced Keynote Speaker. She is also a Jewish woman who spent her formative years in Santa Monica, CA, and her teenage years in the deep South. From growing up among the rich and famous to living down the road from a Ku Klux Klan grand wizard, she's pretty much seen it all. Along the way, she suffered multiple losses, and struggled for years to deal with them. Before I Knew It, They Were Gone tells that story, and much more.
LEARN TO LOVE AGAIN.
LEARN TO TRUST AGAIN.

What people are saying.
"Dana Neiger tells an unflincing and personal story of overcoming loss that is relatable for anyone, but especially those of us that are survivors in one sense or another. She leans into and is proud of her faith, yet transcends any one religious belief structure to share an authentically human journey. Rather than a retreat from reality and a focus on mental illness in a text like "I Never Promised You a Rose Garden," Dana portrays trauma and its aftermath in a more accessible storyline with a level of honesty that will appeal to modern audiences”.
- Amber Raley
“Dana was able to capture my undivided attention from the beginning as I journeyed through her world page by page. I applaud her courage, candidness and transparency in uncovering so many intimate memories, life altering experiences and forbidden conversations. This is a phenomenal book and an exhilarating read that will empower and reinforce one’s own power and self-introspection”.
- Natasha Davis
"I was honored to be able to read an early copy of "Before I knew it, they were gone". Dana's voice is so authentic, piognant, and real throughout the book. Grief comes in many forms and works through all of us differently, and for some, grief breaks them, but for others, they take the grief and create prisms of beauty, love, and purpose. This book is a story of moving through the most raw and painful levels of grief, and finding yourself, and creating a true purpose”.
